How the Magnetic Manhole Lifter Dolly System Works
The system has two components that work together: a heavy-duty magnet that bonds directly to the surface of the manhole cover, and a collapsible aluminum or steel dolly frame that gives the operator mechanical control over lifting and transport.
There are no hooks, chains, or prying involved. The magnet attaches flat to the cover surface. Once the operator engages the lift, the cover comes straight up and is ready to roll. The collapsible frame keeps the total system weight manageable at just 23 lbs, making it easy for one person to deploy and operate.
A key engineering feature is the dual lift position system. By moving the dolly closer to the magnet, the operator doubles the pull-out force. This second position is specifically designed to break covers loose when they’re stuck or seated tight from corrosion, without the operator exerting additional physical force.
